Introducing FinFinder’s new scientific illustrations of Ireland's Cetaceans by Emer Leahy

Emer Leahy is 22 years of age and originally from County Dublin, Ireland. She is currently in her final year student of Applied Freshwater and Marine Biology in ATU, Galway. She grew up in a household filled with nature and creativity while being raised by her inspiring parents, one an artist and one a marine biologist . She has admired them her entire life and has followed closely in their footsteps.

She has been creating, drawing and crafting her entire life. She has also spent significant time at sea, living through spectacular experiences with rich wildlife and sharing these beautiful moments with others. During this time, she was reminded of my passion for nature and art. Since then, Emer has been inspired to combine these together to hopefully reach others, inspiring and highlighting them of the importance of respecting and understanding our Earth and all its magnificent creatures and habitats.

Emer will be completing the scientific illustrations of Ireland’s cetaceans for the FinFinder app in 2025! We look forward to seeing these beautiful animals come to life on screen!
